What is a timeline?
A timeline is the workspace in video editing software where all media elements—video, audio, and effects—are arranged chronologically. It allows editors to organize and control the sequence of the final output.
What does a timeline look like?
A timeline in video editing is a horizontal visual representation of your video project, showing layers of video, audio, and effects in a linear sequence.
What is a timeline view?
A timeline view displays the overall layout of a video project and helps editors see all project elements in relation to each other for precise editing and sequencing.
What is timeline-based video editing?
The timeline displays tracks in a linear sequence, allowing editors to manipulate clips in a structured way, trimming, cutting, and layering media according to the project’s flow. This approach is widely used in professional video editing software.
