What does trim (video & audio) mean?
Trimming means shortening the start or end of a video or audio clip to remove unwanted sections like dead space or false starts. This doesn’t affect the rest of the sequence.
How to trim videos for free
You can trim videos for free using online tools. Upload your video, use the trimming tool to adjust start and end points, and export the trimmed version.
Why does trimming video reduce quality?
Trimming a video does not inherently reduce quality. But if you re-export the trimmed video with a lower resolution or higher compression settings, the quality may degrade due to the re-encoding process.
Does trimming video reduce storage?
Yes, trimming a video reduces storage by cutting out unnecessary parts, resulting in a smaller file size, especially if the trimmed sections are long or if the video is re-encoded during export.
