What is fast motion?
Fast motion is a video editing technique where a video is sped up, making actions appear quicker than they actually occurred. This effect is achieved by recording at a normal frame rate and then playing it back faster or by capturing fewer frames per second (FPS) than the playback speed.
Fast motion is commonly used to:
- Show the passage of time
- Create a sense of urgency or energy
- Compress lengthy activities into a shorter, more engaging sequence.
Can I speed up videos in Riverside's editor?
Yes, by turning off "set pace" in Magic Clip. Set pace refers to cutting all the pauses, gaps, and silences identified in your recording.

- On the toolbar, click AI Producer.
- Click the > next to Set pace.
- Drag the slider to adjust the amount of pauses in the clip.
- Choose Original pace to remove set pace entirely.
- Choose Natural, Balanced, Fast, or Super Fast to adjust the speed otherwise.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
